Strained Ear

Strained Ear is one of Guertena's paintings located in the Violet Area in the game Ib. It depicts a human ear. The image is set against a dark red background, mounted against a black matte, and surrounded by a brown frame. The painting is linked to the Tattletale painting in the Brown Area on the floor above. When Garry learns of Mary's secret of being a painting, Strained Ear will hear him, prompting Tattletale to report this to Mary.

While the player controls Mary in A Painting's Demise, Mary can speak to Strained Ear. She will notify it that she will be going outside and encourage it to tell the others to come if they want to.

During the Welcome to the World of Guertena ending, Strained Ear and Tattletale can be seen attending the welcoming party thrown for Ib and Garry.

Location

In the Violet Area, the painting is hanging on the wall next to some bookshelves, of which one contains a book about Mary.
